           Caring for Argentium® Silver

Argentium Silver is virtually tarnish-free; it will never turn black!  Occasionally, wipe your  jewelry with the Goddard’s Long Shine Silver and Jewelry Cloth* provided with your jewelry purchase. That's all.  It consistently will bring to the surface the anti-tarnishing element from within the Argentium silver called germanium dioxide, which is self-regenerating. Your turquoise-colored cloth is made from 100% English cotton impregnated with an exclusive, anti-tarnish agent called Thiol, which additionally exposes the germanium, natural beauty and brightness of this silver. *Do not use this cloth on regular sterling silver or other tarnishing metals, as the tarnish from those metals will contaminate your Argentium.

Cleaning: Simply wipe the surface with Goddard’s Long Shine Silver and Jewelry Cloth to produce a brilliant shine.  (If your jewelry has been exposed to dirt or grime, you may rinse it in lukewarm water with a mild, non-phosphate detergent, such as Dawn dishwashing liquid, and gently rub with your fingers. Thoroughly dry your jewelry before wiping with your Goddard’s cloth.

Put on your cosmetics, perfume, deodorant and hairspray before you put on your jewelry. Do not intentionally expose Argentium silver or pearls to perfume, hairspray, deodorant, cosmetics, chlorine (swimming pools, hot tubs, etc.) or any abrasives, such as chemicals or toothpaste.

Store your Argentium silver and pearls in individual compartments in your jewelry box to keep them away from jewelry that tarnishes, such as regular sterling silver, and keep them away from jewelry that has sharp edges. (Do not store pearls in airtight containers or direct sunlight, for that causes them to become dry and brittle.). Pearls and Argentium can be exposed to air, so do not worry if you occasionally leave them on your dresser.

Thank you and Enjoy Your Jewelry!
